Short Take: Amadeus buys Vacation.com for $57.3 million

Travel reservation and ticketing system Amadeus has acquired Vacation.com for $57.3 million in cash and warrants. Amadeus will also assume $27.7 million of debt for Vacation.com, a Boston consortium of travel agencies. Amadeus has named Vacation.com chief executive Tony McKinnon as president and CEO of Amadeus in North America. Through the deal, Amadeus will strengthen its bonds with traditional travel agencies and expand further in the U.S. online market.
