Short Take: AltaVista email suffers slowdown

Users of email powered by iName may have experienced sluggish service in the middle of last week. During peak hours on Wednesday and Thursday, iName had to schedule 90-minute outages to upgrade its mail servers. But the service remained slow until Friday, executives confirmed.
