Short Take: Agilent Technologies appoints James Cullen to board of directors

Agilent Technologies, a Hewlett-Packard spin-off created last year, named Bell Atlantic president James Cullen to its board of directors. Cullen, who has over 30 years experience in the telecommunications industry, serves as president and chief operating officer of Bell Atlantic, as well as a member of the Office of the Chairman. Prior to his appointment as the eighth member of Agilent's board, Cullen served as president and chief executive of Telecom Group. Palo Alto, Calif.-based Agilent Technologies makes test and measurement equipment used by the telecommunications, medical and life sciences industries. They went public last year, but are still majority-owned by Hewlett-Packard.
