Short Take: 3DO completes hardware sell-off

Entertainment software maker has completed the sale of its hardware business to Samsung for $20 million in cash, completing 3DO's transformation into a video game software company. Samsung will form a new company based in Silicon Valley focusing on multimedia systems and semiconductor products.
