Short Take: 3Dlabs to release Permedia 3 later in 1998

3Dlabs will release the next generation of its flagship graphics chip, the Permedia 3, in the second half of 1998. The Permedia 3 is optimized for 2D and 3D applications and is capable of processing 250 million texels-per-second. A number of graphics vendors will release new chips in the second half in what has become an increasingly stringent market.
