Short Take: 3Com completes acquisition

3Com completed the acquisition of OnStream Networks, a provider of ATM (asynchronous transfer mode) and broadband wide area network and access products. 3Com exchanged 3.8 million shares and options for all outstanding shares and options of OnStream. The transaction is valued at $258 million and will be accounted for as a pooling-of-interests. 3Com expects to record a one-time charge of $7 million against its second-quarter earnings for associated costs and fees.
