Short: NCR takes its database to Windows NT

NCR plans to take its Teradata relational database to Microsoft's Windows NT operating system next year. Teradata, used for data warehousing applications, currently runs on Unix systems. Support for NT on symmetric multiprocessing systems will ship late next year, and a version for massively parallel processing systems running NT is slated for early 1998. NCR also plans to add multimedia support to the database late next year to support audio, video, animation, and text.
