Short: Lucent subsidiary, Elemedia announced

Lucent Technologies said it set up a new software group to provide businesses and consumers with high-quality voice, music, and video transmission over intranets and the Internet. The group, Elemedia, will sell voice software that enables "telephone quality" conversations over the Internet. Other products will include speakerphone software, which grants full, two-way conversational capabilities to personal computers and Internet phone devices, as reported by Reuters.
