KeyLabs released the results of its performance comparison of Netscape and Microsoft browsers and servers at NetWorld+Interop. KeyLabs transferred HTML files across the network on a range of 10 to 100 Pentium-class client computers. For small- and medium-sized files (7 to 35K and 45 to 120K), Netscape turned in over 200 percent better performance. Internet Explorer narrowed the gap when downloading larger files (140 to 850K), but Navigator was still about 30 percent faster. Detail of the test are available at KeyLabs's Web site.
