Short: Exabyte reports increased revenue

Exabyte reported revenue for the quarter ending September 28 of $92.7 million, versus $84.1 million for the same period last year. Net income for the third quarter was $3.7 million, or 17 cents per share, versus a net loss of $24.9 million or $1.13 per share for the same period last year. Sales of its flagship 8mm Mammoth tape drive more than tripled from the level of the second quarter, and its EXB-8700 8mm drive sales grew by more than 40 percent, but this was offset by a decline in sales of the EXB-8505XL, according to the company.
