Compaq Computer has cut prices on some of its ProSignia servers by as much as 17 percent, the company said. Prices for the seven server models including ProSingia 300 and 500 Pentium-based lines fall from 9 percent to 17 percent. The products are designed for small and medium-sized businesses and branch offices using the Internet and intranet Web servers and mark Compaq's efforts to gain a larger share of the growing intranet market. The move follows August price cuts of up to ten percent, the company said.
