Short: Automatic announces record revenue

Automatic Data Processing announced record revenue and earnings in its first quarter of fiscal 1997, ending September 30. Revenue was $911 million, up 22 percent from the same quarter last year. Net earnings increased to $93 million, or 32 cents per share, from $82 million, or 28 cents per share, last year.
