The Mountain View, California-based firm unveiled today MineSet Version 2.6, the latest version of its flagship product. Enhancements to the tool include support for 32- and 64-bit computing, a new application programming interface for plugging in third party products, support for international character-based languages, and improved analysis functionality.
It is to begin shipping in October. Starting price for a single server and client license, which includes a training course, is $25,000.
MineSet is available on all SGI systems running IRIX 6.2 operating systems or higher. Parallelization and 64-bit support require IRIXZ 6.4 or higher.
For those wanting to try the tool but don't have terabytes of data to mine or the desire to invest $25,000 in an untried product, SGI is offering MineSet Light, a slimmed down version of the tool. It contains all the same features but can only handle a fraction of the load, about 5,000 records. It is priced at $3,000.
