The new database, featured at the International Sybase User Group conference being held in Barcelona, is code-named the "SQL Server Professional" and provides the back end for companies wanting to manage Internet and intranet content.
The product, due by the end of the year on Microsoft Windows NT and major flavors of Unix, includes NetImpact Dynamo, a Web application server that publishes database information directly to the Web and updates HTML-based data.
The company also announced the Sybase Spatial Query Server, a software "snap-in" that integrates spatial data types, used in mapping and other applications, with the base SQL Server 11 database. Sybase SQS is available now on Windows NT and major Unix brands.
Pricing is $1,475 per Windows NT server and $275 per NT workstation; pricing for Unix is $5,885 per server and $1,125 per workstation.
