SCO Group names new marketing chief

The Unix seller promotes Tim Negris to executive vice president of sales and marketing.

The SCO Group, a Unix seller locked in , promoted Tim Negris to executive vice president of sales and marketing on Friday. Chief Executive Darl McBride will lead the management team and set company strategy, but Negris will oversee operations, the company said.

Negris also will help SCO try to build its business in emerging markets such as Brazil, Russia, India and China. Negris, who worked earlier at IBM and Oracle, previously was senior vice president of marketing for the Lindon, Utah-based company.
