SBC switches to single brand

Regional telephone operator SBC Communications said Tuesday that it will use a single brand to market its services. The company said the move will unify offers previously marketed through regional brands such as SBC Southwestern Bell, SBC Pacific Bell, SBC Nevada Bell and SBC Ameritech. The SBC SNET brand will continue to be used in Connecticut.

SBC will continue to offer wireless services through nationwide through Cingular Wireless, a joint venture with BellSouth.
