Palm said Monday it is working with a Japanese apparel maker to create a line of raincoats with a pocket specially designed for a Palm handheld. The jackets, to be made by Japan's Sanyo Fashion House--which is unrelated to the consumer electronics maker--are aimed at both men and women. They will range from $185 to $695.
"After extensive market research, Sanyo has identified that its customers are often Palm handheld users who need a pocket with greater security and accessibility," said Chris Champlin, national sales manager at Sanyo Fashion House. The pocket uses a lining that shields the Palm from static electricity. It also has a waterproof liner and closes with a button with the Palm logo on it.
