Most portable projectors are a master class in feature compromises, image quality and disappointment. Every once in a while, though, one comes along that blows away all expectations and delivers a great image and good sound and works the way it should. That's the Xgimi Mogo Pro, which usually sells for $549. But today only (Sunday, March 28), you can get the Xgimi Mogo Pro for $449 with promo code 2021EASTER -- $100 off.

The Mogo Pro stands about six inches high and can play for up to four hours thanks to its rechargeable battery. Its built-in Harman Kardon speakers sound great, and they're loud enough for the likes of a bedroom -- but don't expect them to fill a living room, basement or other home theater space.

Similarly, don't expect to use it in a brightly lit room. CNET's Rick Broida went hands-on with the Mogo Pro and reported that although he found overall image quality to be excellent, the LED light source manages just 300 ANSI lumens. That's more than most projectors of this size, but it still means you need dim or no ambient lighting to really enjoy the show.

The projector offers one critical feature that makes it really stand out from the crowd: native 1080p (1,920x1080-pixel) resolution. Many less expensive projectors claim "1080p support," but that just means they can accommodate 1080p sources and actually put out a lower-res image -- sometimes quite a bit lower, like 858x480.

The Mogo Pro also runs the Android TV operating system, which runs a close second to Roku as the best streaming OS. To be clear, this is not just Android, but Android TV -- and that makes all the difference. It features a gorgeous and easy-to-navigate, remote-friendly UI with virtually any streaming channel you could possibly want -- HBO Max, Disney Plus, even Apple TV -- just a download away.

This is a great little projector that punches well above its weight. But the deal ends today.
