Sprint spilled some juicy dish today over is forthcoming Samsung Instinct. The fancy touch-screen cell phone will go on sale Friday, June 20. We don't know the exact price just yet, but, according to Sprint, it will cost less than $300. The Instinct promises a ton of features in a slick design. Inside you'll find a 2-megapixel camera, access to the Sprint Music Store for wireless downloads, stereo Bluetooth, audible caller ID, voice dialing and commands, a full HTML Web browser, a digital music player that shows album art, support for Sprint Radio and Sprint TV, phone as modem capability, Microsoft Live Search, and integrated GPS with Sprint navigation. What's more, the Instinct is the first Sprint handset to have EV-DO Rev. A at birth.
Comparisons to the iPhone are obvious, particularly since the Instinct offers its own version of Visual Voice mail and can show the full thread of a text conversation. The June arrival date is just a coincidence, according to Sprint, but that's hard to believe considering the new 3G iPhone will arrive next month as well.
In any case, this is good news for anyone craving an Instinct. Spring and Samsung announced the device at CTIA last month, and then allowed customers to sign up for more information. We can't wait to give it a full shakedown, but until then you can peruse our Samsung Instinct slide show.
