Earlier this week, we reported that Samsung promised a fix for the GPS problems plaguing its Samsung Vibrant and Captivate Galaxy S models, but at the time, we didn't know when it would release the update. However, on Friday afternoon, Samsung sent out a tweet saying that it's currently testing software and expects to release something in September.

The company didn't get any more specific about when in September, but said it would follow up with details and download instructions. It's not quite the quick fix we were hoping for, especially since the problem has been going on for about a month now, but it looks like there's a light at the end of the tunnel.
