Samsung Genio Slide: Two-for-one fun

The Samsung Genio Slide packs a honking great touchscreen and a slide-out Qwerty keyboard on to a budget phone with three swappable back covers

The Samsung Genio family of budget mobiles is growing. You can already choose from a full touchscreen phone, the Samsung Genio, or the BlackBerry-inspired Samsung Genio Qwerty, which sports a Qwerty keyboard but lacks a touchscreen.

As of today, you can get a bit of both with the Genio Slide -- also known as the Genio Pro -- a touchscreen with a slide-out Qwerty keyboard.

The Genio Slide promises to make social networking easier with Twitter and Facebook apps, and support for BBC iPlayer for those of us who have no online friends to chat with.

The Genio Slide has a 3.2-megapixel camera, GPS, and Wi-Fi and HSDPA connectivity. Like its Genio siblings, the Slide comes with three interchangeable colour back covers too.

The Genio Slide is available exclusively (for the first month) on Vodafone, for free on a £15-a-month contract from the Vodafone Web site.
