AT&T said on Tuesday that Samsung's Galaxy S5 flagship phone will hit stores on April 11.

The Galaxy S5 won't be alone. Joining the latest super smartphone will be its family of smartwatches, including the Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo, and Gear Fit.

Samsung will look to press its lead in the smartphone business with the Galaxy S5, which CNET calls a step up from the previous phone. Just as important, the Korean electronics giant is looking to dominate the smartwatch market by launching several different kinds of devices.

The Gear 2 is a refinement from the original Galaxy Gear, and runs on Samsung's Tizen operating system. The Gear 2 Neo is like the Gear 2, but without the camera. The Gear Fit is a sleeker, stripped down smartwatch more designed as a fitness monitor.

The Galaxy S5, meanwhile, will likely be a marquee device at AT&T, given the attention surrounding the phone.

AT&T shares rose 21 cents, or 0.6 percent, to $35.24.
