Samsung's created a teaser trailer for the Samsung Galaxy S3 that takes a rather unsubtle jab at Apple fans. I've embedded it below, so take a peek and let me know what you think.

The trailer gives nothing away about the phone itself, except that Samsung thinks its next flagship smart phone will be an event of galactic importance, complete with a sweeping orchestral score.

Like earlier Samsung ads, this tease takes a sneaky swipe at the iPhone, promising that, "With technology that fits in this easily, you can now stand out from..." before showing a herd of bleating sheep. Oooh, I get it.

Samsung tweeted a link to a website called tgeltaayehxnx.com, a cunning anagram of 'the next galaxy'. That site displayed a countdown clock that hit zero at noon today, but at the time of writing is currently down, presumably crushed by the weight of Samsung fans rushing to get a glimpse.

Meanwhile Phone Arena reports that benchmark results for the S3 have popped up at GLBenchmark, hinting that Samsung's next blower will be a true powerhouse, with results that look to pip even the iPhone 4S.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 is set to be revealed on 3 May. Hardware leaks, along with tipsters speaking to CNET UK, point to a modest upgrade to the Samsung Galaxy S2 design-wise, but with a quad-core processor and a 4.6-inch screen.

Samsung's subtle dig at Apple will give Android fans a chuckle, though the S3 will need to put its money where its mouth is -- it'll be going head to head with Apple's next iPhone this year, in a truly galactic gadget grudge-match.

Will the design be different? Will any of our predictions for the S3 come to pass? Let me know what you're hoping to see from Samsung's next phone in the comments, or on our Facebook wall.
