The Samsung Galaxy S3 is finally receiving the update to Android Jelly Bean, but only if you're on the Three network. Three confirmed the arrival on its Twitter account earlier today -- it's apparently ready and waiting for you right now.

Only those of you who are on Three and who got phones through its network will be able to receive it. If you have an unlocked phone and are using a Three SIM card, you'll have to wait until Samsung pushes its own update out.

There's still no official word on when Samsung, or indeed, any of the other networks will be offering updates to Jelly Bean goodness. Given that Three's is available now and Samsung promised an October release, it hopefully won't be long before all of you can update your blowers to the shiniest version of Android.

To get the update, make sure you're connected to Wi-Fi (it's a big install file), and that your phone has plenty of charge. Head into 'Settings', then 'About device' and into 'Software update'. There, you'll be able to check for updates and download it if it's available.

Jelly Bean's interface isn't a massive upgrade from Ice Cream Sandwich, so don't expect to see any drastic changes. What you will get, though, is much smoother page transitions, thanks to an increased frame rate. You'll also get to play with Google Now, the service that aims to learn your search and location habits to bring you information before you've even asked for it.

We'll keep pestering the other networks to find out when the update will arrive for the rest of you S3 owners, but if you can't bear to wait another second, then take a look at our guide on how to get it unofficially on your phone early.

Are you excited about the update to Jelly Bean or is your S3 perfect already? Let me know in the comments below or over on our Facebook page.
