But it does exist, and you can get one for AU$599 from selected JB Hi-Fi stores around Australia and the two Samsung Experience stores in Sydney and Melbourne.

The phone, which uses a dual-core 1.7GHz processor, launched in the US last week, but has been available in Europe, Russia and Korea for some time now.

While the big screen — and the ability to split that screen for two apps — might be a drawcard for users who liked the Note 2, the lower resolution (1280x720) might turn off some in this full HD world.

At 167.6x88x8mm and with a weight of 199g, we recommend making sure you've got the hand size to deal with it before you race out to buy one.
