Samsung at CeBIT

Samsung at CeBIT

The annual CeBIT show is off and running in Hannover, Germany, and Samsung is quickly emerging as the star of the show. Just when we thought we'd seen it all at CES, when the company showed the 7-megapixel V770 camera phone, Samsung has raised the bar even further with its new SGH-B600. As our sister site CNET UK reports (the team actually got to go to the show), the SGH-B600 may look like an ordinary candy bar-style phone from the front, but on the rear face is a 3X optical zoom and flash. You also get autofocus, a bright, 240x320-pixel display, a memory card slot, Bluetooth, and MP3 playback.

Samsung also introduced the Samsung SGH-i310 smart phone. Running Windows Mobile 5, it has an 8GB hard drive--still a rarity on a cell phone. Other features include a 2-meagixel camera, a digital music player, stereo speakers, and Bluetooth. And I know what you're asking next: Will we see those in the United States anytime soon? Unfortunately, the answer is no.
