Ross launches Y2K update
The business applications vendor rolls out the latest version of its financial management suite, completing Year 2000 compliance across the product line.
Along with century-date compliance, Renaissance Classic 7.0 includes EFT (electronic funds transfer) capabilities and reporting options; management reporting options for sorting, selecting, and paging; and concurrent general ledger access, which comes as an installation option allowing multiple users to work on journals as well as access and post to the general ledger simultaneously.
Company officials said Renaissance Classic 7.1 will support the euro, the new currency for the European Monetary Union. Although the company wouldn't provide a delivery date for release 7.1, it did say it would provide customers with enough lead time to install and meet the January 1999 euro transition deadline.
Although it is one of the smaller players in the enterprise software makers in the industry, Ross develops a broad range of client-server business packages including financials, manufacturing, maintenance, and distributions, among others.
Pricing was not made available by the Atlanta, Georgia-based company.
