Like in other areas of life, persistence often pays off in Hollywood, but it can also go too far and become annoying. Fortunately, "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" star Riz Ahmed walked right up to that line without jumping over it.
That's how the director of the upcoming film recalled the story of being overwhelmed with audition tapes from the young actor.
In a live question and answer session streamed on Twitter Friday, Ahmed recalled "spamming" director Gareth Edwards with different audition tapes for a role in the film.

Jonathan Olley/Lucasfilm"He probably thought I was crazy," Ahmed said.
When asked if he did, in fact, think Ahmed was crazy, Edwards responded with one word.
"Yep."
Edwards remembered that Ahmed's acting range caught his attention with the actor's very first audition tape, but then more tapes continued to show up.
"After the tenth tape I wasn't so sure I wanted to work with this guy," Edwards said with a smile. Added Ahmed, "When he called me, I thought it was to take out a restraining order."
Clearly, it all worked out in the end. Ahmed, who is also known as the rapper Riz MC, plays the role of Bodhi Rook, a former Imperial pilot who switches sides to join the rebellion.
"Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" is scheduled to hit theaters on December 15 in Australia, and December 16 in the US and UK. Meanwhile, check out why this new installment stands out from the rest of the canon.
