According to the Rockstar announcement, the launch will be worldwide on Xbox and PS3, and will occur somewhere between the end of March and the end of June — spring in the US, and autumn in Australia.

Impressively, Rockstar will have the game available for pre-order from 5 November, and "fans can expect a host of new information to become available" around that date.

The elephant in the room is the missing PC version of GTA V, which wasn't mentioned in the original announcement. This obviously sparked a bit of controversy, as a Rockstar rep later took to the comments to say:

Hey guys, glad to see so much enthusiasm about the release announcement. For those asking about the PC platform, we're currently focused on the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game and don't have any details to share about a PC version at this time. We'll follow up with further information as it becomes available.
