Guitar hacker Travis Stevens has made a significant contribution to collective self-defense against the coming zombie apocalypse. Along with zombie safe houses and survival kits, his Zombie Apocalypse Electric Guitar could prove a refuge and weapon of last resort.
This tribute to the rise of the undead is a reworked copy of a Fender Stratocaster, but it bears little resemblance to Strats you're used to.
The blood-spattered area around the pick guard is adorned with a detailed relief portraying zombies breaking through a barricade. Below, real bullet casings and a fake grenade highlight the war zone our lives are bound to become.
The maple neck is inlaid with more brass inserts at the traditional fret marker positions. The "apocalypse-battered headstock" is charred, another victim of the zombie war.
The backplate, meanwhile, looks like the doors to a mad scientist's lab, perhaps the birthplace of the zombie horde.
