RLX chooses contract manufacturer

RLX Technologies has selected Pemstar to manufacture its servers, the company announced. On May 8, RLX will begin selling its "Razor" computers, which pack several independent servers into a single enclosure to increase the amount of computing power in a given space. Most computer makers, including IBM, Sun Microsystems and Hewlett-Packard, rely on contract manufacturers to handle manufacturing chores. These companies can take advantage of lower labor and tax rates in Mexico, China and elsewhere.
