RLX Technologies has selected Pemstar to manufacture its servers, the company announced. On May 8, RLX will begin selling its "Razor" computers, which pack several independent servers into a single enclosure to increase the amount of computing power in a given space.
Most computer makers, including IBM, Sun Microsystems and Hewlett-Packard, rely on contract manufacturers to handle manufacturing chores. These companies can take advantage of lower labor and tax rates in Mexico, China and elsewhere.
