Not every creature was out for blood in the "Alien" movies.
Jones the cat, nicknamed Jonesy, was aboard the USCSS Nostromo to catch mice and entertain the crew.
But for the most part, the ginger cat kept his owner, Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver), company.
On Monday, the Lost in History Twitter account posted rare promo photos for "Aliens."
The photos show Weaver smiling big and posing with the feline in what looks more like a lovable pet portrait than movie stills for a sci-fi horror film.
But Jonesy is no normal cat. He survives the alien Xenomorph that kills off the crew one by one in 1979's "Alien."
In fact, fans wanting more of Jonesy can find several passages written from the cat's perspective in the novelization of "Alien."
Jonesy shows up again in 1986's "Aliens," when the cat and Ripley are saved by a deep-space salvage crew and taken to Gateway Station, then later lives with Ripley in an apartment on Earth.
