Report: Oracle may top revenue estimates

SG Cowen issued a research report Friday indicating that Oracle may top the analyst's second-quarter revenue and earnings estimates. Oracle, which is scheduled to release its results Dec. 15, may surpass Cowen's estimates of $2.38 billion in revenue and earnings of 10 cents per share. Wall Street currently forecasts the company to generate revenue of $2.4 billion in revenue and a net profit of 11 cents per share.

Cowen also notes in its report that Oracle may have closed a $20 million contract with a large Internet company. The analyst, however, says that Oracle's stock appears to have already accounted for a solid quarter, based on the level where it is trading.
