Remo software today announced the availability of their Remo Recover data recovery software for the Mac OS. The software is available in two versions, one for media files only and a Pro edition that will recover disk structure from HFS and FAT volumes as well.

This release, available at Remo Software's Website adds fits in with several other recovery tools that are available for OS X, including:

  1. Data Rescue -- Prosoft Engineering's tool for do-it-yourself recovery of files and hard drive structure.
  2. FileSalvage -- SubRosa Software's utility for undeleting files. While it locates lost files, it does not recover lost partitions and drive structure.
  3. Stellar Phoenix Data Recovery -- One of many recovery utilities from Stellar Phoenix, this can both image and recover files from HFS and FAT volumes but does not fix drive problems.
  4. TestDisk -- An open-source, Terminal-based utility for both recovering lost files and remapping lost partitions. Its non-graphical interface may not be the most user-friendly for people.
