Linux software leader Red Hat announced the availability of version 7.2 of the open-source operating system. Red Hat Linux 7.2 is based on the kernel, or heart, of version 2.4.7 of Linux. It includes enhancements for firewall configuration, improved USB support, and the latest versions of the Gnome and KDE desktop interfaces. Red Hat Linux Professional, for professional workstations and servers, adds server and workstation applications plus expanded technical support. Red Hat Linux 7.2 is priced at $59.95; Red Hat Linux Professional is priced at $199.95. Both are available in stores or direct from Red Hat's Web site.
