Red Hat lets people try new Linux core
Red Hat has made good on a promise to let people try out Linus Torvalds' test version of the new 2.6 kernel, or heart, of Linux. The Linux seller said Monday that it would release RPM (Red Hat Package Manager) update files.
Red Hat developer Arjan van de Ven has made the RPM files available as a download. The software updates Red Hat 9, which is code-named "Shrike."
