Recharge an iPhone with this plug-in case

The Juice Tank, which would let you charge your iPhone without cords or cables, is the latest project in search of Kickstarter-fueled glory.

Every now and then you see a product that's so common sense it seems like it should have been invented years ago. More and more I'm seeing those sorts of inventions on sites like Kickstarter. Case in point--Juice Tank, a combined iPhone charger and case.

The case is designed for the iPhone 4/4S and has a standard plug that flips out so you can slam your phone right into a wall outlet without the need for any cords. A Kickstarter project for the Juice Tank launched yesterday with the goal of raising $125,000 over the next two months to put the cases into production. Crowdfunding supporters can get a case for as low as $40 if you're one of the first 400 to pledge at that level. The case designers say they expect they'll retail for $70.

Kickstarter has provided plenty of ways to help crowdfund iOS accessories lately, from this nifty glow-in-the-dark iPad speaker to the awesomely-named Sideburn mount that turns your iPhone into one wicked lambchop for your Mac.

So far the project has already raised over $2,000, meaning it's nearly on pace to reach its goal. You can watch the full pitch in the video below:
