Real Networks on Friday released a widespread patch for vulnerabilities in its media players RealPlayer and Helix Player. The move comes several daystaking advantage of the security holes.
The update addresses flaws in RealPlayer version 10.0.5.756 Gold and Helix Player 126.96.36.1997 Gold running on Linux or Unix operating systems. The vulnerabilities could allow a remote attacker to compromise systems. Real Networks, which on Wednesday, noted no reports have come in of users' systems being compromised.
