Fans might recognize Taylor from such roles as Dr. Lucy Fields on "Grey's Anatomy," one of the Angels on the "Charlie's Angels" TV reboot, and the lead character in the TV series "666 Park Avenue." She also appeared in the thriller TV series "Crisis."
The character of Trish Walker is a radio talk show host and former child TV star. She also just so happens to be Jessica Jones' closest gal pal who helps her "embark on the most dangerous case of Jessica's career," according to Marvel.com.
Walker's comic book character dates back all the way back to 1944 with her first appearance in Miss America Magazine #2. In the comics, she had the superhero name of Hellcat in "The Avengers" #144 comic circa 1976.
"Rachael's ability to embody a character that must balance both the darker and lighter elements of our series will provide a perfect emotional anchor for Jessica Jones," Jeph Loeb, executive producer and Marvel's head of television, said on Marvel.com. "Rachael blew us away with her grounded, humanizing take on Trish, adding yet another layer to the complex, emotional story we're telling with this series."
Whether Taylor will suit up in Hellcat's feline-themed yellow superhero costume for the 13-episode series remains to be seen, but fans are already speculating that she'll be included in a possible "Defenders" series as well.
