Qwest to install Tellium optical gear

Qwest Communications International, a large long-distance voice and data carrier, will install optical-switching equipment manufactured by Tellium after completing two months of tests on the company's gear. The companies announced they would expand a multiyear alliance formed in September. Terms of the new deal were not announced. Qwest also said it will evaluate Tellium's next wave of technology, the Aurora Full-Spectrum switch, which is in development.
