Qwest seals $120 million in deals

Qwest Communications International announced Wednesday that it has closed $120 million worth of deals in the second quarter with government and educational institutions. The Denver-based telecom services carrier will provide data, Internet and Web hosting services to Maryland state agencies and has also forged contracts with the California State University, the University of Missouri, the state of Louisiana and the Cherry Creek School District in Colorado. Qwest has made other inroads into the government and education market. The company has a contract to provide Internet access to public school districts in Arizona, South Dakota and New Mexico, as well as various service agreements with the state governments of Colorado, Kentucky, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Tennessee.
