QWERTY Sofa: The comfiest keyboard you'll ever nap on
Sofa by Italian design firm ZO-loft is modeled after the QWERTY keyboard and features individually adjustable "keys." No, you can't type with it.
Have you ever thought to yourself, "Gee, I sure wish I could type with my butt?" No, we haven't either, but that hasn't stopped us from admiring the QWERTY Sofa by Italian firm ZO-loft.
Alas, you can't actually type with it (otherwise you'd probably get something that looked like your cat had been sitting on your keyboard every time you offered guests a seat), but it does look pretty sleek.
ZO-loft says of the sofa:Arms folded and cheek pressed on the keys. Sooner or later, at home or at work, we all end up by falling asleep on our computer's keyboard. Turning the archetypal image of a keyboard into a sofa bed, QWERTY is proposed to hold you on its soft "keys" on evenings while working in the office or at home on a rainy afternoon spent watching the home video, bringing a pinch of irony in our daily life.
It does do something pretty cool, though: motors on each of the keys allow you to adjust each one individually via remote control. Want a bed? It's a bed. Want a sofa? It's a sofa. You can even bring each key higher or lower so you have the most comfortable surface you can get.
Alas, the sofa's only a concept, so we probably won't be seeing it in Fantastic Furniture anytime soon.
