Quote of the day: If not illegal, HP's move was 'colossally stupid'

California Attorney General Bill Lockyer, upon learning about the methods Hewlett-Packard used in investigating a media leak from the boardroom, didn't mince words in an interview with the San Francisco Chronicle.

"I don't know if it's illegal, but I'm sure it's colossally stupid," Lockyer said in an interview. "They have one member of the board of directors spying on co-directors. At least, it's a dumb thing to do."
