Quickflix has announced that its movie- and TV-streaming service is coming to Xbox 360 later this year.

The company has yet to announce an exact launch date, but Quickflix founder Stephen Langsford has confirmed to CNET Australia that it will be in the "September quarter".

According to Quickflix, when the Xbox 360 app comes online later this year, it will offer the same level of streaming movie and TV content offered on certain smart TVs, PCs and PS3. According to Langsford, it will also "serve HD quality, and ... will make full use of Kinect and [the] voice prompts of the Xbox".

A streaming-only Quickflix subscription will set users back AU$14.99 per month, with disc-rental services adding to the cost.
