PwC teams with VerticalNet on software

Business-to-business software company VerticalNet has joined forces with management consulting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers to provide joint customers with procurement software and systems integration services. As part of the agreement, PwC will serve as a preferred systems integrator, helping clients implement VerticalNet's direct procurement software, as well as other related software products. In addition, Horsham, Pa.-based VerticalNet, which has recently shifted gears to focus on selling software for operating online marketplaces, said it will cooperate with PwC on a range of sales and marketing initiatives to help push the adoption of its products. As part of the joint marketing efforts, PwC said it also plans to introduce VerticalNet's application suite at its demonstration centers across the United States.
