There is no place like home. The little slice of earth that we carve out and make our own is one that offers warmth and comfort in good times and bad. Perhaps that's how the expression "Home is where the heart is" evolved. But the evolution of that particular idiom is not quite finished; it can also be heard as "Home is where the hearth is." Which makes sense since nothing can beat a great central fireplace or oven -- especially one that brings forth pizza.
Having your own pizza oven in the backyard might just be the pinnacle of comfort. The Kalamazoo Outdoor Gourmet Built-in Artisan Fire Pizza Oven ($8,295) takes the experience to a new level by offering a permanent upgrade to the home. The new model set to be unveiled at this year's KBIS show is an update of the portable version last year. However this time around, the company has really put roots down (or at least a nice solid foundation).
Designed to be installed into a wall or masonry structure, the new pizza oven offers the convenience of freshly baked pizza steps from the back door. The stone-lined pizza oven uses propane or natural gas and heats up in about 20 minutes. Capable of the high heat needed for making delicious pizza, the oven reaches temperatures of 800 degrees via two independent burners. Of course, the outdoor oven can be used to make other dishes as well, offering the versatility for everybody to have a happy home.
The Kalamazoo Outdoor Gourmet Built-in Artisan Fire Pizza Oven will be on display at the 2015 Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS) in Las Vegas, January 20-22.
