Proxim unveils wireless products

Wireless network equipment maker Proxim has announced the Skyline 802.11a, a group of high-performance wireless products that aim to deliver features small businesses and schools require without added complexity and cost. The company, attending Comdex Fall 2001, said the new Skyline CardBus Card and Access Point are compliant with 802.11a standards. They feature Proxim's 2X mode, which allows connection speeds up to 108 mbps. These speeds make it easier to share large files such as presentations and graphics, use high-quality multimedia content, and collaborate over a wireless network.
