Proxim names new chief executive

Networking gear maker Proxim on Monday announced the appointment of Frank Plastina as its president and chief executive officer. Chairman and former chief executive Jonathan Zakin will remain chairman. Plastina previously was president of Nortel Networks' largest business unit, metro and enterprise networks, and served as president of the company's wireless and core networks. Plastina also will join Proxim's board of directors.
