Prodigy members don't have to plod through old bulletin board postings to find a particular thread anymore.
The online service today launched the Bulletin Board Archive (BBA), a service that gives members a search engine to look through the more than 17 million notes posted on Prodigy bulletin boards since September 1994. Users can search, for example, for all postings about the Communications Decency Act, either on all the Prodigy bulletin boards or just selected boards.
Members pay for access time to use the service, with no additional fees, and can download any selected notes to browse offline.
Prodigy says it is the first major online service to offer a search engine for bulletin board postings
