Netcom On-Line Communication Services
announced today that it has received a letter from online service competitor
Prodigy accusing Netcom of engaging in
deceptive advertising in some of its marketing and packaging materials.
According to Netcom officials, Prodigy says Netcom continued to use materials that included price comparisons between the companies' services based on February 1995 prices after Prodigy lowered the price of its service in April 1995.
Netcom officials say they are in the early stages of investigating Prodigy's claim.
